Jake was born and raised in Maine where he spent weekends camping and fishing with his family before moving to Hawaii for middle and high school. While in Hawaii camping and fishing were replaced with surfing and mountain biking whenever he did not have to be at school (and sometimes when he was supposed to be). On a summer trip while visiting family friends in Livingston, MT he immediately fell in love with Montana’s rivers and mountains and decided Montana was the only place he would consider attending college. He graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Business Marketing. After graduation, he spent 5 years as the General Manager of Montana Troutfitters Fly Shop in Bozeman, MT where he helped customers experience the amazing fishing opportunities this great state provides. Later, while working as an account manager and recruiter for a physician recruitment agency he was constantly finding himself looking at real estate listings across the state during his downtime. Eventually, he decided he wanted to make his passion his job and joined the Shonna Key Team.

My Favorite Thing About Working in Real Estate Is: Finding families the perfect home that meets all their unique needs and being able to help individuals with major life transitions.

My Favorite Season: Fall – there is nothing like the first frost, upland bird season, and football Sundays.

My Favorite Holiday: Thanksgiving

My Life Motto Is: Ya don’t know ‘till you go.

My Why: I want to build a life through real estate.

My Favorite Candy Is: Anything with peanut butter.

When I'm not Working I: Can be found on the river fly fishing, in the gym lifting, or in the mountains hiking, biking, hunting, or camping.

What Are the Goals You Have for Your Children? No children yet but eventually I would like to raise independent kids who love the outdoors, are creative, and passionate about building a life for themselves.

What Non-Profit Would You Start: I would love to create a non-profit that encourages youth to become entrepreneurs through mentorship, funding, or scholarship. Also, I know it is cliché, but I love dogs and I would love to be able to rescue old hunting dogs and give them the best end of life possible.
