Joan grew up as the eldest in a lively family of five, learning early on the fine art of leadership (and the occasional sibling negotiation). In 2007, she earned her degree in Business Administration — and during her senior year, met her future husband, proving she could successfully balance goals and life. Fast forward to 2018: marriage, a growing family, and a career spanning over 15 years in the corporate world.

In early 2022, Joan decided it was time to trade rush hour traffic for a new kind of pace. She made the leap into remote work and hasn’t looked back. Joining the Shonna Key Team felt like the perfect fit — a place where she’s been trusted to grow, contribute, and continue writing an exciting next chapter.

My Favorite Thing About Working in Real Estate Is: Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and be part of a team that helps people succeed in one of their major life decisions.

My Favorite Season: Summer — I just hope it's not scorching hot, but warm enough to enjoy being outside without feeling like I’m melting.

My Favorite Holiday:  Christmas has my heart. It’s a time to gather, give thanks, and create lasting memories (preferably around a table full of good food).

My Life Motto Is: "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor." I believe that every struggle and hardship carry the lessons that build resilience, shape character, and lead to real growth.

My Why: I’m driven by my family's dreams, my personal growth, and the opportunity to build a life full of meaning and impact.

My Favorite Candy Is: Dark chocolate — the perfect balance of bitter and sweet.

When I'm not Working: You'll find me soaking up family time or taking long walks with my husband — life’s best moments are usually the simplest ones.

People Who Know Me Would Say I:I’m organized and structured at work, but with loved ones, I lead with warmth, loyalty, and a big heart.

My Favorite Book is: Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara — it’s a beautiful reminder that small, thoughtful gestures can create extraordinary experiences.

What Are the Goals You Have for Your Children? I want to raise compassionate, adventurous souls who live with kindness, chase big dreams, and find joy in their journeys.

What Non-Profit Would You Start: I’d create a nonprofit to raise funds for struggling orphanages, ease their expenses, and support volunteer efforts to improve children's welfare.

We've longed for a place to call HOME and the team helped us do just that. Forever grateful.
